Terms & Conditions

Selling your items to Affluent Archives · Last updated 23 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you offer an item for sale to Affluent Archives through this portal. By submitting an item you agree to them. They sit alongside the terms of service for our shop at affluentarchives.co.uk, which cover buying from us.

2. Who can sell to us

You must be 18 or over and legally resident in the United Kingdom. You must be the legal owner of the item, or have the owner's permission to sell it, and the item must be free of any finance, loan or claim by anyone else.

3. Authenticity and accuracy

You confirm that every item you submit is genuine, and that the photographs, description and condition you give us are accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge, including any faults, repairs, alterations or missing parts.

We do not knowingly buy or sell counterfeit goods. If we believe an item is counterfeit we will not return it, and we may be required to report it to the relevant authorities.

4. Our offer

Once you submit an item we will review it and, if we would like to buy it, send you an offer. An offer is our opinion of what we can pay based on the information and photographs you have given us. You are under no obligation to accept it, and we are under no obligation to make one.

Offers are made on the basis that the item is as described. If the item we receive differs from your description, we will contact you and either revise the offer or return the item to you.

5. Sending your item to us

If you accept an offer, you are responsible for sending the item to us. We recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery or another fully tracked and insured service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit before they reach us.

6. Authentication and payment

Every item is authenticated and inspected on arrival. Where the item matches your description and the offer is accepted, we aim to pay you within 24 hours of authentication, by bank transfer to the account details you provide.

It is your responsibility to give us correct bank details. We cannot recover funds sent to an account you have entered incorrectly.

7. Consignment items

Some items are taken on consignment instead of being bought outright. Where that applies, we will agree the commission and the payment terms with you in writing before the item is listed, and those terms will apply alongside these.

8. Your information and how we use it

Affluent Archives is the data controller for the information you give us through this portal.

What we collect: your name, email address and mobile number; the photographs and details of the items you submit; and, where relevant, your postal address and bank details so we can arrange delivery and pay you.

Why we use it: to review your submission, send you an offer, keep you updated on its progress, arrange delivery, pay you, and keep records of the items we buy. We rely on the contract between us and on taking steps at your request; on our legitimate interest in running and improving the service; on your consent where we send you marketing; and on our legal obligations for accounting, anti-money-laundering and record-keeping.

Who we share it with: service providers who help us run the service, such as our hosting provider, email and messaging providers, couriers and our payment and accounting providers. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Emails and updates: we will email you about your submission — the offer, its progress and your payment. We may also send you occasional updates about buying and selling with Affluent Archives. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing sales@boinclo.co.uk.

How long we keep it: for as long as we need it to run the service, and then for as long as the law requires us to keep records of the transaction — normally six years for financial records.

Your rights: you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email sales@boinclo.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this portal.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown here at the moment you submit an item is the one that applies to that submission.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

12. Contact us
